Climate and sustainability, Sofia Goggia becomes testimonial for Deloitte Italy

Collaboration between Deloitte Italy and Sofia Goggia, multiple Olympic champion in alpine skiing (and fresh from her World Cup victory in Sankt Moritz)
Consulting and sports together to combat climate change and help sustainability. That’s the goal of the collaboration between Deloitte Italy and Sofia Goggia, a multiple-time Olympic champion in alpine skiing (and fresh off her victory Dec. 17 in the World Cup in Sankt Moritz despite a hand operation the day before) and new testimonial for the company active in auditing and business consulting.
The meeting between Deloitte and skiing
The collaboration between Deloitte Italia and Sofia Goggia follows the partnership signed between the same consulting firm and the Milan Cortina 2026 Foundation. A four-year agreement destined to mark the path that will lead our country to host the next Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Putting forces together
The collaboration between Deloitte Italia and Sofia Goggia aims to promote sustainable and responsible behavior towards the environment, towards the people who are part of the Deloitte network, clients and society in general. It is a commitment that adds to the now well-established one that Deloitte has always pursued in supporting companies on the path to adopting increasingly sustainable business models. “Having Sofia Goggia on the team,” comments Fabio Pompei, CEO of Deloitte Italy, “represents a formidable added value for our entire network. The real challenge of our time is the fight against climate change and that is why we have the task of all working together in the same direction with institutions, companies and our people. We are aware that we have a great responsibility to the community in which we operate as we continue to pursue the goals of WorldClimate, the global strategy by which Deloitte has committed to becoming a Net Zero organization with emission reduction targets to 2030.”
The goal of reversing the trend
“For our network,” says Franco Amelio, Deloitte sustainability leader, “it is a great source of pride to have Sofia Goggia, a prominent personality in sports and beyond for all of Italy, as a testimonial. Together, through concrete gestures and constant awareness raising, we are convinced that we can make a real contribution to reverse the trend and save our planet. We are thus reinforcing our commitment to sustainability, a commitment that we have further consolidated through the establishment of a benefit company entirely dedicated to climate change issues: Deloitte climate & sustainability (Dcs), which will have more than 450 people joining by 2025. Dcs will be a true benchmark on sustainability.”
Sharing values
“I am particularly happy,” adds Sofia Goggia, “to become a testimonial for such an important network as Deloitte, with which I share many values. United we can make ourselves promoters of sustainable, respectful and responsible behaviors towards the environment and our planet. Together with Deloitte I share those deep values that stimulate daily commitment, mutual respect and teamwork to achieve the most ambitious goals. Climate change is challenging our mountains at all latitudes; each of us can do our part through daily engagement. The melting of glaciers and our ever-shrinking snow are an alarming sign of what is happening.”
The birth of Deloitte climate & sustainability
Deloitte climate & sustainability strengthens the expertise of the Deloitte network to offer the market integrated solutions in 4 areas:
– climate change and decarbonization;
– circular economy and supply chain;
– sustainable finance;
– Esg data architecture.
In Deloitte climate & sustainability there is an area dedicated to the methodological development of services, in connection with universities and international research centers: in this way Dsc will be able to provide highly specialized solutions, adhering to the needs of each industry and each client, thanks also to a large portfolio of proprietary assets. This commitment is also demonstrated by the implementation of initiatives to keep abreast of the main trends and regulatory developments in the field of sustainability, including with reference to reporting and the growing interconnection between sustainability reporting and financial reporting.
